Every book in this series has been a hit. I really liked Charlotte. She reads like an aspie, and it was so refreshing. She's not given a label and there's nothing that says she is on the autism spectrum, but if diagnosing fictional characters is a thing, total aspie. I can relate to her wanting direct answers and conversations rather than skirting around topics. Similar to myself, she will often start to answer a question trying to be vague and waiting for the other person to ask for more information before giving it up.
I cried while reading the prologue of this. The tension between the two main characters starts off in the very beginning of the book. We find out that she was going off to college but she had just spent a summer with him as her best friend and it had become more of a romantic relationship but neither of them was willing to admit it. Then she kissed him. He didn't want her to stay on the ranch if she had dreams of more, so he let her go to college and tried to put her out of his mind for the 4 years she was there. Then she came back to the ranch, and for the last year it's been all either of them can do to resist their feelings and pretend like the kiss never happened.
I've read very few books about dancers but this one was great. It had a rich dancer who was pretty set on doing the exact moves and being completely technical and she was competing for an arts scholarship. But she didn't want to work with the choreographer her mom chose who was really stiff and wouldn't be able to push her. She doesn't want to continue to rehearse the same dance that her mom wants her to use to get into an elite ballet company. Instead, she wants to win this competition so that colleges can see her perform and she can have that as an option rather than making being part of a ballet company her life.
I've read two of the stories in this anthology, and I know the rest of the anthology is going to be amazing because of the authors who are participating in it. So if you like sweet Christmas romances, this may be a collection for you.
If Andrew was the sweet cinnamon roll and Cristian the bad boy, then Will is the funny man. His banter about old crime movies and shows with Hazel was adorable. I was so glad that he already had a crush on her before she started making any changes in order to catch the eye of the swim Captain who she had a crush on.
